Day 1: Moshi to Rongai Gate to Rongai Cave Camp

After breakfast, you’ll be driven to the Rongai Gate to complete park entry formalities. The hike starts in a gentle, rolling farmland area and gradually leads into the rainforest. You’ll reach Rongai Cave Camp at 2,870 meters, your first campsite.

Day 2: Rongai Cave Camp to Second Cave

You’ll continue your trek, which leads through the moorland zone. The day ends at Second Cave, situated at 3,450 meters, where you’ll rest for the night.

Day 3: Second Cave to Kikelewa Camp

Your ascent leads to the striking Kibo volcano. Kikelewa Camp, at an elevation of 3,600 meters, offers you a comfortable spot for rest.

Day 4: Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp

You’ll make your way to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, positioned at 4,330 meters. The campsite is at the base of Mawenzi Peak, and the surrounding views are stunning.

Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut

Your trek continues toward Kibo Hut, which is located at an elevation of 4,700 meters. Rest, eat, and prepare for the summit attempt in the night.

Day 6: Summit Day - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and Descent to Horombo Hut

Your most challenging day begins around midnight, with a trek to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro. After your summit celebration, you’ll descend to Horombo Hut for the night.

Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Descend through the heath and moorland zones, reaching the Marangu Gate. Receive your summit certificates and transfer back to your hotel in Moshi for a comfortable night’s rest.
