Day 1: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Camp

After an early start, you’ll drive to the Umbwe Gate and complete the essential park entry formalities. The hike commences through the lush rainforest, where towering trees surround you. Your first camp, Umbwe Camp, is perched at 2,850 meters, providing a serene setting for your initial night on the mountain.

Day 2: Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp

Today, your strenuous ascent continues. Leaving the rainforest behind, you enter the heath and moorland zone. The day’s journey leads you to Barranco Camp, positioned at 3,950 meters. This camp is known for its breathtaking views and acclimatization benefits.

Day 3: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

This is an exciting day that includes the climb up the Great Barranco Wall, which presents a challenging but exhilarating experience. After conquering this section, you’ll reach Karanga Camp, nestled at an elevation of 4,035 meters, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 4: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Today’s trek brings you closer to your summit attempt. You’ll reach Barafu Camp, which serves as your base camp for the forthcoming summit bid. It’s a day for rest, preparation, and acclimatization as you gear up for the demanding summit day.

Day 5: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and Descent to Mweka Camp

The most challenging and rewarding day of your journey begins with a midnight start. You’ll embark on your ascent, aiming to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro, just as the sun graces the horizon. After celebrating your achievement, you’ll begin the descent to Mweka Camp, positioned at 3,100 meters, for a well-deserved rest.

Day 6: Descent to Mweka Gate

Descending through the enchanting rainforest, you’ll make your way to Mweka Gate. There, you’ll be presented with your well-earned summit certificates and transferred back to your hotel in Moshi, where comfort and relaxation await.

Amazing 3 day safari trip Amazing time on safari while in Moshi for a month. We did a 3 day trip seeing tarangire national park, ngorongoro crater and lake manyara. Stunning number and variety of animals in each park, and the drivers were fun, friendly and very good at spotting animals in the distance! All the logistics were very well organised, we were well fed and looked after. Would definitely recommend! Ngorongoro crater was the highlight for me :)

Safari An unbelievable experience, we seen Tangire national park, ngorongoro crater and lake manyara. Our tour guide Temo was very friendly and knowledgeable and we got to see the big 5. Accommodation was lovely.

Amazing We spent 3 days in the safari and it was amazing, never experienced anything like it before, the views were stunning. Timo was our driver for the 3 days and was so kind and took the time to explain and show us everything. Would 100% recommend booking the safari trips with relight childhope adventure

Brilliant safari! Volunteered to teach in one of the primary schools in Moshi. Such an amazing experience! During my time there I went on a 3 day safari. The experience was unbelievable. I went to Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. The amount and variety of wild animals is truly mind blowing. The trip was well organised and the drivers skilfully found some great close up encounters with lions, elephants and everything else. Accommodation was adequate and the group I travelled with were well fed and watered with evening entertainment thrown in. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Amazing weekend!!! Our 3 day safari was amazing! Very well organised by Timo and our guide Hiliary was great. We saw all of the big 5 throughout the weekend. You visit 3 different parks: Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara. The accommodation is quite basic but does have a great view over lake manyara! Overall a great weekend!

Love Zanzibar! Visiting Zanzibar through the Relight Childhope Adventures was lots and lots of fun! We had an amazing time visiting the Jozeni forest, doing the beach safari and even seeing dolphins. It is an experience I will never forget, and even more amazing to have been able to have done it with friends. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get an all around experience of the beauty of Zanzibar, whilst also being able to explore the lovely and historic Stone Town.
